How the work is structured
Every service at Cogsmith follows the same structure: intake assessment, defined scope, work at the bench, verification, written record and collection. The steps don't change based on the watch's brand or the service tier.
Intake assessment means the watch is examined and photographed before any work begins. You're told what's planned and what it costs. If the condition at intake reveals something that would change the scope, that's discussed before proceeding.
Verification means the completed service is checked against a measurable standard — a pressure rig reading or a timing bench result — not a subjective impression from the workbench.

Quartz Care & Seal Check
Cell replacement, gasket inspection and a water-resistance pressure check for everyday quartz watches. A tidy routine service that keeps a daily watch dependable through the seasons — particularly relevant in Phuket's humid coastal environment where gasket degradation accelerates.

Pre-Owned Inspection

Mechanical Movement Service

Applied to every service
Secure watch custody
Watches are photographed and logged at intake, stored in a locked area between bench sessions and collected only with the intake receipt.
No changes without consent
If the service reveals anything beyond the agreed scope, work pauses and you're contacted before anything additional is done.
Correct lubricants by part
Different movement components require different lubricant grades. We do not apply one product to all parts.
Written record on collection
Every service closes with a written summary — work done, parts used, test results. Useful for your own records and future service decisions.
Realistic turnaround times
Timelines are estimated honestly at intake. If something changes during the service, you're told promptly rather than kept waiting without explanation.
Transparent findings
If the inspection or service reveals something unexpected — positive or negative — it's reported clearly, not minimised or inflated.
